Lloydminster Public Library takes the COVID-19 situation seriously. At LPL the safety of our employees and patrons is our number one priority. We want to assure you that we are closely monitoring the status of the situation in the city and provinces and taking direction from both the Alberta and Saskatchewan health authorities as well as the Canadian health authorities.
LPL is closed to the public indefinitely as of March 16, 2020.
We do encourage you to visit the library remotely rather than physically, at https://www.lloydminster.info/index.php/en-ca/online-resources, where you can access LPL’s online resources such as magazines, ebooks and newspapers. Patrons can stay updated on changes to LPL services on our website and social media.
If you don't already have a library card you can sign up for a virtual membership by clicking here. Residents of the County of Vermilion River can access the Northern Lights Library System temporary membership card form here
Keep Yourself and Community Healthy
Practise social distancing. Try to keep an optimal six feet away from other people.
Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer that is a minimum 60-90% alcohol.
Cough into a tissue or your elbow. Discard the tissue immediately.
Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
If you are feeling unwell, please stay home and take care of yourself.
During this temporary closure, we are taking several steps to ensure library services remain available:
If you have materials currently on loan, you can still return them. Our book return is still available at the south (Main) entrance to Atrium Centre. We will be entending the loan period for currently borrowed items to May 1.
We will continue to closely monitor this situation as it evolves.
