Lloydminster Public Library

Library cards are free for ALL Lloydminster residents as well as ALL Saskatchewan residents.

Fine forgiveness day happens once in March and once in October!  

We have a variety of Lloydminster Library Swag available! Visit the library to buy yours! 

Your PIN or password is the last 4 digits of the phone number you provided at registration. 

Parking is available in the main Mall parking lot. We recommend parking closer to the west entrance – we are located next to Telus. We also have a reserved Handicap parking stall behind the Mall – when you park there please ring the doorbell at our back door. 

Through interlibrary loan we have access to library collections across Canada If we do not own an item we may be able to borrow it from another library. Requests may involve a fee.

E-resources and interlibrary loans are only available through your home library system.

To Request an Item (HOLDS):  Saskatchewan and City of Lloydminster residents may request items (holds) through SILS.

or Patrons may choose to have eligible holds sent to any location within Saskatchewan.

 

Items which have not been requested by other patrons may be renewed twice.

 

Late charges are charged if library materials are not returned on time.

  • Late charges on adult materials are .30 cents per day to a maximum fine of $6.30 for each adult item. 
  • Late charges on Young Adult materials are   .20 cents per day to a maximum fine of $4.20 for each young adult item.
  • Late charges on Adult and Young Adult DVDs, Blu-Ray and video games are $1.00 per day to a maximum fine of $7.00
  • There are no late charges for children’s materials.

A replacement fee of $3.00 is charged for all lost or stolen cards. 

Lost or damaged library materials are charged according to the cost of replacement.

In some circumstances temporary library cards may be issued with valid government ID.  Limits on borrowing and fees may apply.

A library card is not required to use LPL spaces, computers or print services.

County of Vermilion River residents can obtain Northern Lights Library System TRAC cards from public libraries in Kitscoty, Marwayne, Paradise Valley and Vermilion. Your TRAC card allows you to reserve and borrow physical items from LPL only.  

Interlibrary loans and e-resource borrowing are only available through your home library system.


Meeting rooms, study pods, the makerspace and the program room are available for booking by local groups. A nominal fee may be charged. 

Our staff is more than happy to offer suggestions on what to read next based on personal interests and reading level. 

We have a 24 hour book drop outside the library behind the Mall! 

Library cards can be issued to people of any age. If you are under 14 years of age you will need to have your parent or guardian present to sign the registration form and accept responsibility for all use made of the card.

A Library card must be used by the person to whom it is issued and be presented each time you borrow materials. You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card until you notify the Library that your card is lost.
